Starting with Angi and Scott...I took their family photos today and in between shots I caught mama and boy snuggling up. I told you people I'm a sucker for cute kid shots.

We had a Saturday morning visit to a little place in Auburn where kids can run through the corn maze, play in the corn, feed the animals and have all sorts of outside fun. Carter did not go from the corn vat quietly.

There were a couple trips up north...Jenny introduced Ethan to the joys of fishing. We picked the one freezing weekend in September to head north but it wasn't too bad.

There is a playground near the beach up there and I have these same pictures of me when I was little on this same swing. I'll have to see if I can dig them out to post here and give you some chuckles.

I love it when the lake is like glass.

My grandfather took Jenny and Jeff fishing...and Carter was none too impressed with the catch.

Ah, a man of many faces...I got these all in about three minutes. I like the one in the middle left: "you talkin' to me?!"

I. love. corn.

We took great pleasure in running the energy out of the boys by taking walks around the lake. When they'd get unruly you can always count on ChaCha to start a rousing rendition of "the ants go marching"...and so it happened that I turned around and found Carter indeed "marching".

We were going to do an experiment to change this lovely flower to another shade of color...but the discovery of a squished snake in the road broke it in two. Oh well.

This is why I love fall.
