Girls Weekend - part deux.

Yes, photos of Puerto Rico are coming....in the mean time...
It was back up to Gladwin for another weekend away and while Jenny and I were mucho productive creating three quilts, we also took a turn on the zipline and the giant swing.

Peggy had heisted my camera and I was giving her warnings about proper use of the camera that includes not taking pictures of the camera owner. That's our best thug impression. Scary aren't we?

The heart-stopping first free-fall is crazy (this would be Jenny)....

...and the first swing out over the river is equally as heart-stopping (and that would be me)...

And now it's on to editing Puerto Rico....

Yeah, yeah, I know

Yes, yes I know I've been a big blogging slacker but there's lots of great reason for it I swear. So I'm smashing the last six weeks into one giant post with a very strange hodge-podge of photos. This will need to tide you over for at least two weeks so I can have time to post photos from the trip to Puerto Rico (this weekend!!) and the girls weekend that immediately follows. Who? Me? Burn the candle at both ends? Never. :)

At Easter dinner last Sunday Ethan and Carter finally performed for the camera...the "Nana Face". Carter tries really hard to match the look Ethan is giving (which is actually a great impression of a face Nana really does make) but it just comes off as a very mean look that you can't help but laugh at.

Carter + Cake = Happy Carter

I spent most of this winter in a horrible state of NO CAR DOOR HANDLE. Let me just say it really stinks. A lot. But.....

...I did coerce my brother into fixing it, but I had to talk him into it...while we tried out a couch my mother picked up at an estate sale. She took this photo before we could protest. It's rather entertaining to chill in the garage on a sunny morning. While it looks like relaxation, it was actually a negotiation for fixing the door handle...it cost me a forgiven debt, a lotto ticket and two coffees. Not bad for the amazing ability to open your car door.

Tony and I took a quick winter break up north in the end of February where we stopped through my parents cottage and then stayed in Traverse City. Always great sunrises up north...

And the sun going down...

A spot we stopped in Glen Haven...

Overlooking the creaky ice in Empire. It's really freakin' cold there at that time of year, but it was kinda cool being the only people for miles. If you stand really still, you can hear the motion and creaking of the ice - eerie, but kinda cool.

If only I had thumbs, I'd play....

I wasn't quick enough to get this picture in focus but the content cracks me up so I'm posting it. A few weeks back we were playing cards at Ryan's and Jeff had to turn to advice anywhere he could get it...he didn't win the game but one of Ryan's new kitties was having a good time learning how to play "frustration".

A winter wedding...

Highlights from the last wedding! My friend Renee got hitched on Jan 12 and I was tasked to follow around the girls for awhile and just generally be a spare photographer. Now that I'm addicted to this program..here's another sound slide of the highlights. I think this might be the last wedding before Sharla and I officially start up the wedding business. Sooo, anyone need a couple of wedding photographers? :)

Katie from NC

Who? Me? Resist a cute baby? Naaaahh. I think I conquered the art of soundslides and viola!...here is Katie. She is the first-born of my friends Steph and John and they were up visiting from the state that they should rename Michigan because everyone is moving there (North Carolina). I'm a self-proclaimed bad photo editor because I can never narrow them down, but tough tacos, she's cute. So I hope you enjoy my first ever soundslide production and my goal is to make the mama cry. :) (well?!)

In order to make it play you have to hit the arrow pointing to the right just to the bottom left of the photo.

Weather nerd.

I've never denied it. MAN I love the weather. What a fantastic treat to have a specatcular storm roll through about 9:30 p.m. tonight. For those of you out-of-staters...it's been in the 50s here all day and we've officially lost the snow. Yeah, we're under a tornado watch...in January. And I finally shot lightening.
Yes, this is at 9:30 p.m.!

BOOOYAAAAAHHHHH!

Happy 2008!

Happy 2008! I was wandering around today burning off some photos for the heck of it. I hope you all party like rockstars in the new year! Enjoy!
